Ashley Fuchs Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho 2008 My name is Ashley Fuchs and I am the 2007-2008 Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho. I am from the small town of Chester, Idaho. My parents are Bill and Teresa Fuchs. I am currently attending Carroll College in Helena, Montana where I am pursuing a degree in Nursing with a minor in Biology. I am a member of the Carroll College Student Nursing Association where I participate in community service and help provide health care to members of the community. I am also a member of the Carroll College Choir and was chosen for the 2007 fall semester Dean’s List. Through my four years of high school, I was in horse 4-H and competed on the FFA horse judging team. I was also a member of honor choir and band, served as secretary for our National Honors society chapter and was one of the valedictorians of my graduating class. I served on the executive student council and was a varsity cheerleader and head cheerleader over all of the squads. I participated in High School Rodeo for four years where I competed in goat tying, breakaway roping, team roping and rodeo queening. I was the 2006-2007 IHSRA queen and had the opportunity to compete at the National High School Finals Rodeo where I placed in the top ten in all categories and placed 5th overall. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, camping with my family, skiing, spending time with my friends and family and of course riding my horse!. I also LOVE team roping with my brother and competing in local roping competitions. I am a strong supporter of breast cancer awareness and research and have helped with the Relay for Life. I like to volunteer for organizations and help others. In the future I plan to attend medical school and become an obstetrician. Becoming Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho has always been a dream of mine since the beginning of my rodeo queen career when I was 13. On August 18, 2007 my dreams finally came true when the Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho crown was placed on my hat. During the four day long competition I ended up winning the public speaking, horsemanship, appearance and personality categories. While I was there, I made lifelong friends, had opportunities for “family bonding time” and walked away with many unforgettable memories. It will be an experience I will never forget. The sport of rodeo has taught me many things over the years like dedication, endurance, and good sportsmanship. This sport promotes old-fashioned principals such as hard work, integrity and spending time with one’s family. It is a honor to be Miss Teen Rodeo Idaho and to represent the GREAT cowboys and cowgirls from our state. This truly is a GREAT sport! I would like to thank all those who have helped me along the way and who have made this opportunity possible for me. I know I am the person I am today, because of you! Always be yourself and remember to SMILE!
